Making much of the technology of the flagship V3Rs accessible to more riders, the Colnago V3 Road Bike perfectly balances stiffness, weight and compliance, offering precise handling and a racy feel. Built-up with a mechanical Shimano Ultegra disc groupset, this is an incredibly capable race-ready machine. Updates from the previous V models include a redesigned fork that maximises compatibility with disc brakes and wider tyres, a new geometry that uses a shorter head tube and lower bottom bracket, plus a seatpost clamp that’s lighter and offers more modulated tightening. All of this is brought together in a carbon monocoque frameset that combines low weight with aerodynamic details. This is a bike that’ll climb, descent, sprint and handle with equal aplomb.
Shimano Ultegra is a very small step down from the top-end Dura-Ace model in terms of performance and is provided here in a mid-compact configuration, the choice of many racers thanks to its balance of high and low gears. Hydraulic disc braking brings powerful stopping that’s confidence-inspiring at speed, no matter if you’re riding in blazing sunshine or through a heavy downpour. Fulcrum Racing 600 wheels are a great all-rounder, robust and reliable, and the bike is finished with Deda Zero2 and Prologo finishing kit, alongside an aero seatpost that further cuts drag.
